The Finals Appearance

April 15 will be the last regular season game for many teams.
2 out of the 30 teams that play those days are the Chicago bulls and the Atlanta
hawks. The NBA play offs take off April 18 to see what two teams make it to the NBA finals. Throughout the playoffs, watch your teams battle to the finish to
pull the win for the finals appearance to take home the championship trophy. In
the western division the golden state warriors are in 1st place in
there conference they have won 50 games and lost 12 games in total. The lost
angles clippers are in 5th place with 41 wins and 23 lost games. The
Memphis grizzlies are in second place with 45 win and 18 lost games. The eastern
division having the Chicago bulls in 3rd place with 39 wins and 26
lost games the Atlanta hawks in 1st place with 50 wins and 13 lost
games the Cleveland cavaliers in 2nd place with 41 wins and 25 lost games.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao recently had a chance meeting at the Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks game last month. This was followed by an hour-long meeting at Pacquiao's hotel. Many people are expecting that the much awaited fight is almost a done deal as Pacquiao's adviser, Michael Koncz, who who was present at the meeting, was very positive about what transpired when the two boxers met. "I think Floyd is sincere about wanting the fight, I really do." says Koncz to Yahoo.
While Floyd and Manny are still coming to an agreement on the fight, Khan is waiting in line to fight against Manny if Floyd backs out. Amir Khan is a fighter that many see as a viable alternative to fight Pacquiao if the super fight with Mayweather Jr. falls through. Some even find the fight between Khan and Pac-Man inevitable, and are just questioning when it will happen.

Sun Life Stadium Upgrade

Sun Life Stadium
in Miami Florida is a 28 year old building and home of the Miami Dolphin’s
football team. The stadium has only been renovated once in almost 30 years but halfway through 2014 plans to upgrade the
building were made. Construction has already begun, and it’s planned to be
finished by the 2015-2016 season. According to Steve Robbs, owner of the Miami
Dolphins, the goal of the $400 million renovations is to be able to host super
bowls, college championships, soccer matches and concerts for the next decade
or so.
The
modernized stadium will feature new seating, roofing and better video boards. The
seats in the stadium will be replaced by newer, wider and more comfortable
seating, as well as additional seats that are closer to the field. The stadium
will also have a new open air canopy, capable of providing shade and cover to
91 percent of the crowd. To top things off, the 2 old video boards will be
replaced with 4 new high-definition ones. All this plus some basic maintenance
will make the stadium almost unrecognizable to the original, and make it ready
to host big events.

Multi Team Trade In The NBA

The Cleveland cavaliers have acquired New
York Knicks guard J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert in a multi team trade that also
sends guard Dion waiters to the Oklahoma City thunder. The Oklahoma City
thunder will give the cavaliers a protected future first round draft pick and
sends guard lance Thomas to the Knicks. As part of the trade, the cavaliers
sent rookie center Alex kirk, forward Lou Amudson and a 2014 second round pick
to the Knicks. For New York, the deal is a salary dump. The Knicks unload a
$6.4 million owned to J.R. smith next season, giving them approximately %28
million in salary cap this summer. In Cleveland they are looking for a rim
protector they are continuing to search for centers, they want Timofy Mozgov,
but the team that his on are thinking on kipping him or not. This multi trade
was finalized late Monday after the cavaliers and Knicks game.

Legal Sports Gambling

Adam Silver, current NBA Commissioner, has been advocating to legalize sports gambling since he assumed the mantle from his mentor and ex-NBA Commissioner, David Stern. The four major sports leagues have long been opposed to sports gambling because they think it would compromise the integrity and morale of their games. Arguing that with tight regulation and close monitoring with today's technology, Silver thinks that the legalization of sports gambling could be a great thing. Saying that fantasy leagues are a legal, and successful form of gambling, Stern agrees with his protege that it's time for betting on professional sports to be acceptable in today's society.

Top 3 Teams in the NBA

The top three teams in the NBA are the Houston Rockets, Memphis Grisslies, and the Toronto Rapters. The leading scorer for the Houston Rockets is James Harden averaging 21.5 (PPG). Dwight Howard is the center and he is averaging 11.3 (RPG), there record is 9-3. The Grizzlies leading scorer is Marc Gasol with 19.0 (PPG). Zach Randolph aka, Zebo, is averaging 10.8 (RPG), there record is 10-2. The Toronto Raptors are 9-2 and there leading scorer is Demar Derozan averaging 21.9 (PPG). Kyle Lowry, the point guard is averaging 5.9 (APG). The season just started; watch out because these teams could be the teams competing in the playoffs and or the championship.

Team USA sent 74 athletes to the Pan American Karate Federation Junior and Cadet Championships in Lima, Peru. This is the biggest karate event held every year, in which only the top two athletes from every country in North, and South America are given the honor to represent there respective country. This event was held August 27 - 31. We are proud to announce that the Junior National Team athletes produced 24 medals over the three days of competition. In 2013, Team USA was 5th in the medal count with 3 GOLD, 10 Silver, and 16 Bronze medals. This year Team USA was in 4th place for the overall medal count after a four-way tie for 2nd had to be broken. The final 2014 medal count was 7 GOLD, 5 Silver, and 12 Bronze!! Next year the Pan American Karate Federation Junior and Cadet Championships will be held in Miami, Florida. Team USA will be aiming for the GOLD!
